Disclaimer
KBC provides its services with the utmost care. Nevertheless, water sports are inherently risky and cannot be completely ruled out, even if all safety standards are strictly adhered to. By signing, the participant confirms that they are aware of these risks and accept them.
KBC accepts no liability for personal injury or property damage caused by slight negligence. Liability for intent, gross negligence, and damage to life, limb, or health, as well as mandatory legal claims, remains unaffected.
KBC is not liable for loss, damage, or theft of personal belongings, including those stored in lockers or guest storage. Participants are advised to take out adequate insurance (in particular accident and personal liability insurance).
The following applies to minors: Participation is only permitted with the consent and signature of a legal guardian.
Health & personal responsibility
Participation in courses, rental, and use of the spot are at your own risk. Each participant or renter is obliged to strictly follow the safety instructions of the staff, to use the equipment responsibly, and not to endanger themselves or others.
The participant confirms that they are not aware of any health restrictions that could make participation dangerous. Health risks, illnesses, or restrictions must be reported to KBC staff immediately. Injuries or discomfort must also be reported to the KBC team immediately.
Participation under the influence of alcohol, drugs, or performance-altering medication is not permitted.
Courses and course implementation
Courses usually start at 9:00 a.m. on the first day booked.
If the practical part cannot take place due to excessive (>25 knots) or insufficient (<12 knots) wind, the course will be postponed or replaced by a voucher of the corresponding value. The KBC Event Week is excluded from this – here, an alternative program will be offered if the practical part is canceled.
There is no entitlement to a refund of the course fee if the participant discontinues the course for personal reasons.
Sports equipment and rental
Rental equipment must be returned by 5:30 p.m. at the latest. If the renter is not sufficiently qualified to use the equipment safely, KBC may refuse to perform the rental. KBC is entitled to terminate the contract and retain the rental fee.
The renter is liable for loss or damage to the equipment and bears the costs incurred. Damage must be reported upon return.
The KBC team checks and maintains the equipment regularly. Nevertheless, the participant is obliged to carefully check the equipment before each use, report any defects or doubts immediately, and only use suitable, functional equipment. Prescribed safety equipment (e.g., helmet, impact vest, leash) must be worn if specified by the center.
Equipment insurance
KBC equipment insurance (if available at the center) covers damage up to €300 per claim, with no deductible. Damage exceeding this amount is borne by the renter. Loss of equipment is not insured.
Damage caused by winds exceeding 25 knots (on land or on the water), extremely low water levels, and damage to directionals (e.g., broken fins) and foil equipment are not covered. The insurance only covers damage to rented equipment caused by the policyholder – no personal injury or third-party damage.
