At the waterfront
All three centers are located directly on the lagoon's shore: It's less than 70 meters from the rental station to the water's edge. The sandy, stone-free beaches and smooth water are perfect for water sports enthusiasts—whether you're a beginner, intermediate, or pro. At all three spots, there are shallow-water areas. At New Spirit Dakhla (on the western side of the lagoon), this area is particularly large and ideal for beginners and children.

All three water sports centers on the Dakhla Lagoon are "powered by KBC World" centers and benefit from the years of expertise of the kite and wingfoil school network.
Here, you will find lessons, kitesurfing and wingfoil events, rentals, and top-notch service in the well-known KBC quality. The centers are located directly on the hotel beaches along the lagoon, offering you a relaxed "bed-to-buffet-to-board" comfort.

Kitesurf and Wingfoil Rental
At all centers, you can rent top-quality F-ONE kitesurf and wingfoil equipment—at the OASIS212 Water Sports Center, this will likely be available from mid-2025. Until then, you can rent kites and boards from North. Reserve in advance, and you'll always have the right gear, even if you need to switch several times a day. To rent equipment, you need a license equivalent to VDWS Level 5.
Foil Paradise
As a foil kitesurfer and wingfoiler, you’ll also enjoy great conditions: a short walk to the water with a direct, sufficiently deep entry, a soft bottom, deeper water further out, and kilometers of open space in the lagoon.
In the east: KBC Dakhla
The KBC Dakhla at the hotel beach of the Dakhla Club Resort is a comfortable and spacious kitesurf and wingfoil center. The entry is sandy with a standing area about 100 meters wide. The lagoon offers relatively smooth water here, and the wind blows consistently and steadily from a sideshore direction.
The center is very comfortable and well-equipped, featuring a vast F-ONE equipment pool and a comprehensive training program, including specialized courses for kids and kite foiling. This is also where the KBC kitesurfing and wingfoiling events take place throughout the year.

In the west: New Spirit Dakhla
The New Spirit Dakhla Kitesurf & Wingfoil Center is a gem in a prime location on the western side of the lagoon. The wind blows consistently and smoothly from a sideshore direction, and the standing area is particularly wide at around 200 meters – A fantastic shallow-water spot. The water is exceptionally smooth here, making it perfect for freestylers.
The center feels like a second home for kitesurfers and wingfoilers who value community and good vibes.

In the south: OASIS212 Water Sports
The center at the OASIS212 beach is currently integrated into the hotel but will soon move directly to the hotel beach with its own dedicated building. At the moment, you can still rent equipment from North, but the pool will soon be upgraded to F-ONE gear. Near the shore, right in front of the center, the water is shallow with a standing area about 100 meters wide, always deep enough for wingfoiling. The bottom is fine sand, and further out, the water becomes a bit choppier.
All in all, this is a perfect all-around spot for beginners, advanced riders, and pros looking for plenty of space on the water.

Trips and tours
The Dakhla lagoon stretches for almost 40 km and its natural shape makes it a very interesting destination for downwinders and excursions for water sports enthusiasts:
Trip "White Dune"
Join the 20 km long downwinder to the famous ‘White Dune’ of Dakhla, accompanied by 1-2 experienced guides. Adventurous kitesurfers and wingfoilers have the opportunity to take a jump from the 8 metre high dune. A four-wheel-drive pick-up awaits us at the finish line to take us back to the centre in comfort.
This trip is only suitable for advanced kitesurfers and wingfoilers (minimum VDWS level 5). The trip only takes place at high tide and with a northerly wind, as otherwise the dune is not surrounded by water and the journey becomes difficult.
The downwinder is organised with a minimum of 3 participants. Please note that due to the low water level it is not possible to take a lifeboat.
Dakhla Lagoon Trip White Dune
Trip "Speedspot"
Join us on the downwinder – and a short upwind stretch – to the famous speed spot of Dakhla. There, you'll find mirror-smooth flat water – perfect for practicing freestyle tricks or gliding at full speed across the water. The group will be accompanied by at least one experienced instructor, ensuring a safe and supportive environment.
The trip takes place once at least 5 participants are signed up and is only possible during low tide and with a north wind. Since the area is not a standing area and our rescue boat is not available, safe riding skills, relaunch, water start in deep water, and self-rescue are required (at least VDWS Level 5).

Trip "Wavespot"
With a 4x4 vehicle, we reach the Dakhla Wave Spot in just 5 minutes. It’s a perfect wave spot where the waves break cleanly over sandy ground, providing ideal conditions for wave beginners as well as exciting challenges for advanced riders. An experienced guide will accompany you on-site, offering helpful tips for kitesurfing or wingfoiling in the waves. The wind at the wave spot is generally a bit weaker than at the lagoon, so we only start when there is at least 25 knots of wind at the center. Additionally, we check the wave height in advance to ensure the conditions are optimal.
Since the water at the spot is deep and no rescue boat is available, this tour is exclusively suitable for advanced riders (VDWS Level 5-6).
Dakhla Atlantikc Trip Wave Spot
Trip "Surfing"
On windless days, we take the 4x4 pickup to the wave spot on the Atlantic coast, just 5 minutes away. There, you’ll find moderate, cleanly breaking waves – ideal for learning how to surf. The sandy bottom provides optimal and safe practice conditions, making this spot perfect for kids as well. An experienced guide will be there to offer valuable surfing tips. The tour takes place with a minimum of 3 participants and only in complete wind calm. You can also rent a surfboard if desired.

Wind
The trade wind, which shifts between the Canary Islands and Cape Verde in summer and winter, blows over Dakhla all year round. As a result, the wind is constant on 320 days per year, averaging around 15–22 knots. Coming from the northeast, the wind blows sideshore and is further reinforced by the mountains inland, as it is funneled over the lagoon like through a wind tunnel. In summer, the wind blows steadily from morning till evening, while in winter it usually starts from late morning.
The probability of wind forces exceeding four Beaufort is an impressive 95 percent. The most commonly used kite sizes are 7 and 9.
Air Temperatures
During the winter months from December to February, daytime temperatures range between 15 and 16°C, with highs reaching up to 23°C. For the rest of the year, temperatures typically range from 20 to 26°C. In the summer months, daytime highs can even exceed the 30°C mark.
Whether it's summer or winter, warm to hot days are always followed by a noticeable drop in temperature in the evening. So you won’t need air conditioning to sleep well. Still, be sure to pack a pair of long pants and a sweater, even in summer.
Water Temperatures and Wetsuit Choice
In winter, the water temperature in the lagoon is around 16 to 17°C, so a full wetsuit is recommended—especially on windy days.
In summer, water temperatures range from 22 to 25°C. Boardshorts are usually enough when you're out on the water, but a shorty wetsuit is a good idea for strong wind days.
high and low tide in the lagoon
The lagoon is around 40 km long and 4 km wide and is formed by the Dakhla peninsula, which extends into the Atlantic. For this reason, the water in the lagoon is also influenced by the tides:
At high tide, you have a standing range that extends up to 300 m all around the lagoon.
At low tide, this strip is somewhat reduced, but can still be used thanks to the 1 km latitude to the windward side. The ground is extremely fine sand. Nonetheless, we recommend wearing neoprene shoes, since bits of shell are hidden at various points along the beach. At low tide, this area is partially dry and it’s just a few metres to the water’s edge.

Dakhla Airport can be reached from Frankfurt, Switzerland, Austria, Amsterdam, and Brussels via Royal Air Maroc with a layover in Casablanca or Marrakesh. Some flights also connect through Agadir or Marrakesh, both of which are easily accessible from Europe (e.g., with Ryanair, EasyJet, or Wizz Air). From these cities, domestic flights to Dakhla Airport are well-coordinated with international arrivals. The flight duration from Central Europe is approximately 6-8 hours.
Some airlines offer direct flights to Dakhla from European cities like Paris (e.g., with Transavia or Air France) or Madrid (with Ryanair). Additional cities are expected to follow. The flight duration is approximately 3-4 hours from France or Spain.
The distance from Dakhla Airport to the center and hotel is about 40 km (a 40-minute drive).
Transfers
You can book your airport transfer through the hotel. Our driver will be waiting for you at the exit of the arrivals hall, holding a sign with your name. He will safely bring you and your luggage or equipment to the hotel. Your transfer driver will take you to us in 30 minutes in an air-conditioned car or minibus.
