Rent a single kitefoil board or complete kitesurfing equipment with kitefoil board. The area is ideal for kiteboarding. If you are not sure yet, we recommend an hour of private instruction.
You need a VDWS level 5 licence to rent kiteboarding equipment.

At KBC Ras Soma, you can rent first-class F-ONE Wingfoil equipment. Book in advance and you will always have the right equipment, even if you have to change several times a day.

As a kitesurfer at the KBC kite beach, you register in advance at the reception. In return, you benefit from the use of the centre's complete infrastructure and service. Unfortunately, we do not have unlimited capacity and therefore recommend that you book in advance.
Security
The lifeboats will help you within a few minutes if you can no longer go upwind, to recover your kite or board or with other problems in deep water.
A number of boat rescues are included in the service price. Additional rescues can be booked

Shuttle to the watersports beach
You can reach the water sports base by shuttle bus. It leaves every hour on the hour from 9 am in front of the hotel entrance. The shuttle bus ride is free of charge.
Shuttle for guests from Soma Bay / North Safaga
If you are staying at a hotel in Soma Bay or North Safaga (e.g. in Soma Bay at Breakers, Sheraton, Robinson, Cascades, Kempinski or others, including flats or in North Safaga at Palm Royale, Solymar, Caribbean World, Paradise, Movabic, Imperial or others), we will be happy to organise a taxi shuttle for you:
Just call the KBC Ras Soma reception (at least 45-60 minutes in advance) and your shuttle will be organised.
KBC co-operates with a taxi service from Safaga. Your driver will pick you up from your hotel at the agreed time and take you to the KBC centre. The cost is 10 € per way/car. Please pay the taxi fare directly at the KBC reception.

Spot & Wind
A constant north wind blows in the large bay, which is reinforced by the nearby Red Sea, so that the area is very wind-safe and offers beautiful flat water conditions. Even in strong winds, the water in the bay remains relatively calm and thus offers good learning and practice conditions for freestyle and maneuver training.
Wingfoilers will also have great conditions. The water in the bank and entry area is quite extensive, but so shallow that you can neither swing nor kite there at first. Training and riding is only possible a little further out in deep water. Therefore we only offer courses with a maximum of 2 people.
At the KBC Center the wind blows from side-offshore, seasonally also side-shore directions, but first blows about a kilometer over the sea before it hits the KBC Center and is then constant and undisturbed. KBC has several boats in use - to support the training and to ensure the safety of the kiters and wingfoilers.
Test & purchase
Before you buy your kite equipment, you should definitely test kites, boards and harnesses to find exactly the material that suits you best. That's why we offer you the opportunity to test everything free of charge for 30 minutes: kites and boards from F-ONE and harnesses from MANERA. Ask us on site!

- Swimming trunks, bikini or swimsuit
- Flip flops, beach shoes, sun hat or cap
This is what you need, but you can borrow/buy it on site:
- Sport-sunglasses with a strap, best polarized (in the local shop)
- Suncream, waterproof and with a high sun protection factor
- Lycrashirt and Boardshorts (June-October) for UV-protection
- Short Wetsuit (May-June, October-November)
- A long wetsuit (December-April)

Wind
At the KBC Center the wind blows from side-offshore, seasonally also side-shore directions, but first blows about one kilometer across the sea before it hits the KBC Center and is then constant and unvortexed. The KBC has several boats in operation - to assist with training and for the safety of the kiters and wingfoilers.
We have had the best experience with Windguru 's wind forecast. The "modified wind" or the indicated gusts predict the actual wind most accurately.
Weather
In spring and autumn we recommend a shorty, in summer you can kitesurf only in boardshorts and lycra. But you should always think of very good, waterproof sun protection.
In the winter months (December to February) there are more strong and light wind days - the wind is not as constant as in the other months. We recommend long neoprene clothing in winter. The air temperatures are still mild during the day, but at the latest when the sun goes down it gets fresh. Therefore, pack warm long clothes and also a hat when you come from the water.
