KBC Ras Soma

The impressive centre, which is being built in cooperation with the newly opened 5-star resort Steigenberger Ras Soma, is currently being completed by Thomas Beckmann and the KBC team. The water sports centre is located around 800 metres below the hotel's beach area and offers a private water sports area. Known for its KBC quality, the new watersports centre will offer kitesurf and wingfoil training, rental of the premium brand F-ONE and storage. In addition, windsurfing courses for children and catamaran training and rental are planned for the future.

Those familiar with KBC El Gouna can look forward to a warm welcome at KBC Ras Soma in the future from some well-known and long-standing KBC staff.

Soma Bay

Soma Bay impresses with its fine, white sandy beach and the wonderfully turquoise, crystal-clear water. Due to the excellent conditions, the area has become a mecca for water sports enthusiasts. The popular holiday destination is flourishing and is well on its way to becoming the next flagship on Egypt's east coast.

In the coming years, a visionary project will be built here, where the land between the Steigenberger Hotel and the KBC Watersports Centre will evolve into a diverse landscape of lively marinas, lagoons, tasteful residential parks and villas surrounded by lush gardens.

Spot & wind

There is a constant north wind in the large bay, which is further strengthened by the nearby Red Sea, so the spot is very wind safe and offers fantastic flat water conditions. Even in strong winds, the water in the bay remains relatively calm, offering perfect learning and practice conditions for freestyle and manoeuvre training. Wingfoilers also get their money's worth here.

At the KBC Centre, the wind blows from side-offshore, seasonally also side-shore directions, but only blows about one kilometre across the sea before it hits the KBC Centre and is then constant and unvortexed. The KBC has several boats in operation - to support the training and for the safety of the kiters and wingfoilers.
