KBC Limnos, the new KBC Kite- and Wingfoilcenter, is located in a true kitesurfing paradise, which is still an insider tip: a large shallow area, ideal for kitesurfing beginners, freestylers and wingfoilers, flat water, some wave outside in the south of the bay, very constant wind, thanks to the 'Meltemi', a long sandy beach and summer temperatures on the magical Greek island of Limnos.
You will experience a holiday close to nature in the luxurious Hotel Keros Blue directly on the kite beach with pool (for hotel guests) and restaurant, but you should also not miss discovering the history-rich island with all its sights. The centre is well equipped with our professional teaching team, the latest F-ONE equipment and offers you the usual KBC quality.

At KBC Limnos, you can rent first-class F-ONE wingfoil equipment from the centre directly at the kite beach. Book in advance and you will always have the right equipment, even if you have to change several times a day.
To rent, you need a licence that corresponds to the VDWS level 5.

Storage, service & beach use
As a kitesurfer at the KBC kite beach, you register in advance at the reception. In return, you benefit from the use of the centre's complete infrastructure and service.
In order to guarantee high quality at all times, we unfortunately do not have unlimited capacity and recommend that you book in advance.
Prices & Booking
Rescue service
The rescue boat will help you if you have a problem in deep water, if you need to recover your kite or board or if you can no longer walk upwind.
KBC guests kitesurfing with their own equipment pay 30€ per rescue. A safety package can be pre-booked on site. It includes 4 rescues by boat and costs 60€ per person.

Kite beach & area
The beach of Keros in the south-east of the island of Limnos is still an insider's tip for amazingly good kitesurfing conditions. Constant, reliable wind is brought by the "Meltemi", the prevailing summer wind from the north-east in the Aegean.
The conditions for kitesurfing and wingfoiling are very versatile: in the first 50 to 100 m you will find a waist-deep standing area - ideal for beginners. The bottom is sandy and flat, completely without coral or sea urchins. So you don't need shoes. Only at the outer ends of the bay are a few, easily visible rocks.
The headland to the north-east of the bay creates wonderful shallow water, ideal for freestylers. In the southern part of the bay, a nice wave is created when the Meltemi is strong, which offers good conditions for wave beginners because it rolls wide and long to the shore. The spot is perfect for beginners up to pro riders, freestylers and wave beginners.
Those who know other Greek islands know that fine sandy beaches are rare here: Limnos is one of the very few islands in Greece with a fine sandy beach. In the reviews, the "gorgeous" beach of Keros usually gets a one-star deduction because it is "too windy" - so what more could you want? Despite the ideal conditions, the kite spot is by no means overcrowded.
The kite bay is framed by an enchanting backdrop of fine sand, crystal clear water, wonderful flora with green pines and the desert lily and is home to some flamingos. Keros Beach is a Natura 2000 protected area.

KBC Limnos is located directly on the kite beach Keros Beach, about 7 minutes walk from your accommodation Keros Blue. At our centre you will find everything you need for a comfortable and safe kite holiday:

Limnos Island
Limnos is the largest island in the northern Aegean and has around 17,000 inhabitants. Due to its compact size of only 30 x 34km, you can quickly get to all the important places on the island. We recommend renting a car, a bike or a scooter to be flexible on the spot, because besides water sports you will find a lot of things on Limnos that you should not miss. The island is rather flat with only gentle hills and is agricultural, but the infrastructure is well developed.
Little rainfall and the constant winds from the north give Limnos a dry mesoclimate.
Food and drink
Stay at Keros Blue during your holiday at KBC Limnos. A breakfast buffet awaits you every morning on the sun terrace in the Airtime Bar. From 3 pm until around 10 pm, there is à la carte dining in the Keros Blue restaurant. Here you can enjoy delicious Greek-Mediterranean cuisine, in which the best local products are prepared in a flavourful and imaginative way. The menu also includes many organic products from the hotel's own farm. The hotel has a garden where local fruit, vegetables and eggs are cultivated.
On the island in all the small villages you will find all kinds of tavernas offering mainly Greek cuisine. In the small tavernas you will find delicious delicacies in good company. Here you will find the true flavours of Limnos, lovingly prepared by the locals. Here you can sample many locally produced excellent products such as wine, cheese and wheat products - all of excellent quality - or eat freshly caught fish. For true foodies, we even recommend cooking and wine tasting courses, sunset picnics and the book "Taste Lemnos" to get to know the gastronomy and culture of Lemnos better.
For souvenirs, be sure to stock up on local products such as the famous cheese "kalathaki", wine, pasta, honey and "venizelika" - chocolate fudge and liquor with history!

- Cycling: Limnos has about 25 cycling routes with breathtaking views and exciting descents combined for road cycling, but also mountain biking. One of the most beautiful routes starts at Keros beach and leads to Gomati beach. Those looking for something more challenging can test their endurance with the rocky climb to "Prophet Elias", the highest point of the Aegean island. Bike hire at Keros Blue for a small fee.
- Diving: The crystal clear waters of Limnos make the island an ideal destination for divers with its perfect climatic conditions. Take the opportunity to admire the rich marine life and beautiful reefs on the seabed of Limnos. Discover curious blennies, octopuses and groupers.

Hephaistos Island
The history of the island goes far back into the past. According to ancient Greek mythology, Limnos was the island of Hephaistos, the god of fire and volcanoes. One myth says that he landed on this island when Hera, his mother, had a love quarrel with Zeus, his father, and when her son Hephaistos tried to intervene, he threw him off Mount Olympus. Hephaestus broke his leg when he landed on the island and was left lame forever. The islanders took care of him and in return the god taught them his art of iron forging.
Limnos came under Persian rule in the 5th century BC and joined the Athenian League after the Persian Wars ended. After the division of the Roman Empire, Limnos became part of the Byzantine Empire and a strong Byzantine castle was built to protect it. The island's geographical position and the safety of its gulfs strengthened its military position. After the fall of the Byzantine Empire, Limnos became the prey of pirate raids. The island was the subject of wars between the Venetians and the Turks and was finally liberated in 1912.

Checklist KBC Limnos
Please don't forget to pack:
- Your identity card/passport, here you will find the latest travel information
- Swimming trunks or bikini or swimming costume
- Flipflops, beach slippers
- Sports sunglasses with strap, preferably polarised
- Sun hat or cap
You need this, but you can borrow or buy it locally:
- Sunscreen, waterproof with a high sun protection factor (you can find the best in our online shop).
- UV-protective clothing, e.g. lycra shirt (from our shop, included in the KBC Kite Event) and board shorts
- Long, thin wetsuit, In high summer, a shorty is enough, or sometimes just boardshorts and lycra.
You can leave that at home:
- Kite pump, because we have a compressor and hand pumps for the common types of valves
- Socket adapter. Your Central European plug fits (type C and E).
Wind & Weather on Limnos
Wind & Weather
On Limnos, the "Meltemi", the prevailing wind of the summer months in the Aegean, blows reliably from the north-east. It blows from April to October as a dry wind from northern directions from the Greek mainland towards the eastern Mediterranean. Limnos occupies a special position in terms of wind exposure: Limnos is situated in the extension of the Dardanelles, which are oriented towards the island similar to a narrow wind tunnel.
The Meltemi is perceived as pleasantly cool and usually brings good weather and clear visibility. It gives us medium-strong constant winds of mostly 16-23 knots. The wind is usually a little stronger in the morning hours and then decreases around 4pm. Only in spring and autumn can the wind sometimes come from the south. Then you can also expect rather stronger winds around 30 knots, rarely even over 40 knots.
Keros Kitebeach is the only Greek spot with wind until October.

There are daily flights to Athens and Thessaloniki from many European airports. In the summer season, three airlines fly daily. From Athens or Thessaloniki, you fly on to Limnos after a short transfer time.
Limnos Airport (LXS) is located in the centre of the island, only 20 minutes by car (14km) from Keros Bay.

Keros Blue
During your kitesurfing holiday on Limnos, you will stay at Keros Blue. The seafront complex opened in 2016 and consists of 16 deluxe rooms, 7 two-bedroom flats, a large pool with sun terrace and a restaurant and bar serving Greek-Mediterranean cuisine, where the best local produce is prepared in a tasteful and imaginative way.
The Keros Blue complements the nature experience of the holiday with close-to-nature, unique luxury accommodation with massive, thick stone walls, large windows, artistically designed bathrooms and large wooden verandas with sea views.
The hotel features an annual Land Art Installation right in front of our restaurant, on the way to the beach.
Location
Keros Bay is on the east coast of Limnos Island, about 2km from the small village of Kalliopi. There are a few small cafés, bars and a grocer here. You stay directly at the spot in the stylish Hotel Keros Blue - the luxurious accommodation in only 700m walking distance through the dunes to the long kite beach.
Doubleroom Deluxe
The double room Deluxe offers space for up to two adults with a maximum of one child (up to 12 years). The modern and cosy rooms are all equipped with a fridge, satellite TV, safe, air conditioning and a bathroom with shower/WC, hairdryer, bathrobes and slippers, as well as a minibar, coffee and tea making facilities and a safe deposit box. From the spacious terrace you have a beautiful view of the lagoon, e.g. from the hammock.
Familiy Apartment
The family flat Deluxe offers space for up to 6 people (max. 4 adults and 2 children or 5 adults). The modern and cosy flats have two bedrooms, two bathrooms (with shower/WC) and a living room with sleeping facilities. The flats are equipped with a fully furnished kitchen and a dining table. In addition, you will find satellite TV, a safe, air conditioning and a hairdryer, as well as bathrobes and slippers in the bathrooms. From the spacious terraces you have a fantastic view of the lagoon, e.g. from the hammock.
