Kitestrand & Revier
Der KBC El Gouna liegt am größten Stehrevier des Roten Meers. Wir haben zwei Spots, zwei ideale Übungsreviere, die ausschließlich für Kitesurfer reserviert sind. Die genaue Beschreibung findest du in der Spotmap:
Spotmap
Spot 1: liegt direkt vor dem Center. Es ist ein langer und feinsandiger Privatstrand. Mit einer Breite von über 800m hast du hier viel Platz zum Starten, Landen und Ablegen deines Kites. Die mehrere Quadratkilometer große, stehtiefe Lagune liegt direkt an unserem Privatstrand und macht den Einstieg ins Wasser besonders einfach und sicher.
Spot 2: Der zweite Strandabschnitt liegt etwa 800m nördlich des bekannten KBC Centers. Hier schulen wir unsere Events, aber auch erfahrene Kitesurfer sind willkommen hier in Ruhe zu trainieren, denn hier ist eine Menge Platz auf dem Wasser. Das Wasser ist im etwa 800m breiten Stehbereich zwischen knie-und hüfttief und hat nur sehr wenige Riffreste und Steine. Du erreichst den Spot über einen kleinen Upwind-Kitesurf-Trip (etwa 10 Minuten für geübte Höheläufer).
Vor Ort zeigen wir dir das Revier auch gerne ausführlich.
Swimming Pool
Der KBC El Gouna hat als einzige Kitestation in El Gouna einen Swimming Pool: 6m x 9m groß (70 - 200cm tief), plus Kinderpool (25cm tief). Der Pool hat Massagedüsen und ist in den Wintermonaten beheizt: nach deiner Kitesession kannst du dich im warmen Wasser entspannen. Selbst im Winter hat der Pool eine Temperatur von angenehmen 32°C.
Rund um den Swimming Pool findest du Sonnen- und Schattenplätze mit Liegen. Die Poolnutzung ist für KBC-Gäste und ihre Begleitung inklusive.

Ein Paradies für Kinder
Am KBC El Gouna erwartet die Kleinen ein wahres Spielparadies: ein großer, schattiger Spielplatz mit Schaukel, Rutsche, Sandkasten, Klettergerüsten und einem Spielhaus. Im Strand Restaurant des KBC findest du ausgezeichnete Salate, Sandwiches und sogar Steaks für jeden Geschmack. Die Portionen sind auf hungrige Kiter ausgelegt, wie der erstklassige Rösti Züricher Art oder das Steak-Sandwich mit Pommes. Wer es gesünder mag, bestellt eine der vielen Salatvariationen. Das Restaurant ist ganztägig geöffnet. Wir haben einige Mottotage, wie den Pizzatag – frische Steinofenpizza – oder den Mixed Grill Tag mit frisch gegrillten arabischen Spezialitäten!

Das kannst du Zuhause lassen:
- Kitepumpe, denn wir haben einen Kompressor und Handpumpen für die gängigen Ventilarten
- Durchfallmedikament – wenn es dich hier erwischt, dann hilft nur das heimische „Antinal“ aus der Apotheke vor Ort.
- Steckdosenadapter. Hier gibt es das mittteleuropäische System.

Wind, Weather & Tides
High and low tide in our lagoon
The water difference in our shallow lagoon is dependable on the tides, between 20-70cm. Generally, the water level is a little higher in winter so you can safely kite in the lagoon. In summer however, and especially around full moon, the lagoon can be completely drained for several hours. During that time, you can only kitesurf behind our reef. But don´t you worry, our rescue boat is always available in case you need help.
Wind & Weather
The wind almost always blows side-onshore (direction north- northwest) and comes directly from the Red Sea, which makes it very stable and not turbulent. Mostly we have more wind than predicted in most weather forecasts. Our experience tells us that Windguru gives the most accurate forecasts for our spot. The ´modified wind´ or ´wind gusts´ forecasts the real wind here in our spot.
In winter (December to February) the wind is not as stable as the rest of the year. During that time there are more light and strong windy days. The air temperatures are still mild during the day, but as soon as the sun goes down it gets fresh. So better bring warm long clothes and a beanie.
In spring and fall we advise a shorty. Temperatures in that time of year are still enjoyable – around 22 degrees – comparable to European summers.
In summertime you only need a lycra and boardshorts. But certainly do not forget to bring good protective sunblock all year round!
How does the wind in El Gouna form?
The wind in the region of Hurghada and El Gouna – especially at the Red Sea – is created by a combination of natural large-scale air currents and local effects:
- Trade winds
Our area lies within the influence of the north-eastern trade winds, a constant wind system around the equator. Over the Red Sea, this trade wind regularly blows from northwest to north-northwest. Especially further north (around Hurghada and El Gouna) this direction dominates, ensuring reliable side-shore winds. - Thermal winds
During the day, the land heats up much faster than the sea. This temperature difference creates a low-pressure area over the land, drawing in cooler sea air – a classic thermal effect. Combined with the trade wind, this strengthens the wind, especially in the afternoon hours. - Venturi effect due to topography
The landscape around El Gouna – shaped by mountains, islands, and coastal formations – acts like a natural nozzle: the air is funneled and accelerated between these obstacles. This creates a locally reinforced wind.
