Learn professional kitesurfing & wingfoiling in the vast riding area of Brouwersdam

Kite beach & spot

You learn and kiteboard in the Mecca for kitesurfers in the Netherlands. On a total area of over 1.000 hectares you will find excellent conditions: In the seemingly endless beach landscape with a large standing area you will find all conditions to learn kitesurfing or to improve your kitesurfing skills easily and safely. We train on the North Sea beach Brouwersdam or on the beach of Ouddorp:

Brouwersdam: The wide sandy beach lies behind a narrow chain of dunes. The beach passages are numbered (14-17). We will tell you in advance the number where we meet. Watch out for the position of the KBC bus (post-yellow Sprinter with KBC print). We are usually right behind the dune. Here you have enough space for the equipment setup and your first flight exercises. The spot offers ideal conditions with wind directions southwest, west, north to northeast. On the beach you will find several beach stalls and bistros where you can get your lunch. The spot Brouwersdam is about 4 km away from our station. You can park for free at the dike.

Bruinisse: With an offshore wind on the Brouwersdam, we head for Bruinisse. There are two options here. We use the south side of Bruinisse in southerly and south-easterly winds. There is only a large standing area here at full tide. In north-easterly and easterly winds, we use the north side of Bruinisse. There is a standing area here all day long, as this is the Grevelingen Sea. You can park free of charge at both spots.

Kite Centre

The KBC Brouwersdam is located directly on the campsite De Hoge Blok (between Ellemeet and Nordwelle). On site you will find a highly motivated kite team with station manager Jani and her instructor team.

On your first day of instruction we meet at the start time of the course at the kite school on the campsite. If you arrive a little earlier, a warm coffee or tea will be available. We equip you with neoprene and harness. Neoprene shoes and gloves are not included in the rental package. You can buy both in the shop on site. From here we drive together to the kitespot. You can drive with your own car or carpool.

On the beach you can recognize the KBC team by our bus (post-yellow Sprinter with KBC print), by our blue neoprene jackets (with KBC logo) or by our dark brown hoodies with KBC logo. 

VDWS license

KBC Brouwersdam is a VDWS-certified water sports school. As part of your course, you can take the VDWS exam (not included): Your instructor will test your theoretical knowledge, assess your riding skills, and determine your riding level. With your VDWS license, you can also rent equipment at other centers.

To rent equipment, you must have a VDWS license with a minimum level of 3 for kitesurfing or level 5 for wingfoiling. If you do not yet have a license, you can take the exam with us.

We train kite and wingfoil instructors, only hire instructors with a VDWS license, and teach according to VDWS standards.

Activities

In addition to ideal conditions for kitesurfing, the Brouwers Dam offers a large leisure programme:

• SUP tours - sporty and absolutely suitable for families: rent SUPs in our SUP rental, learn the new sport in minutes and explore the North Sea or Grevelingenmeer paddling.
• Longboard - Rent one at our center and take a tour to nearby Renesse or the beach
• Wakeboarding at the Cablepark in Kamperland
• Cycling (rental at the neighbour campsites): Kilometres of cycle and hiking paths lead through the dunes and into the beautiful green landscape
• Search seals on the sandbanks - with binoculars they are visible from the beach
• Atmosphere in the evening and campfire romance at the cosy barbecue area at the station

Shop

In our shop directly in the kite school you can find the latest F-ONE kites and boards, MANERA harnesses, wetsuits, neoprene shoes, neoprene gloves, hoods and caps. You will also find KBC shirts, caps, waterproof sunscreen and much more. We are open every morning and every evening.

Food & Drinks

At lunchtime we will have a break in one of the pavilions or at one of the snack bars on the kite beach. There you will get a delicious lunch: chips, burgers, steaks... (8-15€). At the campsite you will find snacks at the bar at lunchtime.
At the weekends we have a barbecue at the beach and sit together in a cosy atmosphere. You can find food in the supermarket.
You want to party and want to experience something in the evening? Then visit Renesse, famous for restaurants, bars and beach clubs. If you prefer a quieter time, you can go to Scharendijke or Brouwershaven, where there are also a number of restaurants. On site we have even more tips.
