Do you have any questions about KBC Brouwersdam?
How are our opening hours?
KBC Brouwersdam is open daily during the main season, and we can be found at the respective training location during course times.
When and where does the course begin?
We meet on your first training day at the start of the course (the time can be found on the website or in your booking confirmation) at the De Hoge Blok campsite. From there, we start together.
How do you find us?
There is a route description on the website under "Directions".
Can I park at your place/Can I bring my motorhome?
We offer free car and motorhome parking for our guests directly at the entrance of the De Hoge Blok campsite.
Do all employees speak Dutch?
Our office team speaks German. Our instructors come from all over the world and teach in English. If you need a Dutch-speaking instructor, please let us know in advance so we can arrange one for you.
How long does the course last?
We are dependent on wind and tide for the course, so you should not plan anything else for your course day. Lessons take place between 8 AM – 8 PM, with a maximum of 5 hours of instruction per day. If you need to leave early, please discuss this with your kite instructor in advance.
What do I need to bring?
The course fee includes almost everything you need (wetsuit, harness, vest, helmet, and the latest kite equipment). However, we do not rent out neoprene shoes. Please bring your own neoprene shoes. If you don't have any, you can buy them in our shop. Check the checklist for all necessary items.
What if there is no wind?
If there is not enough wind to conduct your training, you will receive a credit for the booked course. The special thing about this credit is that you can redeem the value of the unused services at any of our other centers worldwide.
How does equipment rental work?
You need VDWS Level 5 or IKO Level 3K to rent equipment. Please contact us one day before your arrival regarding your reserved booking so we can coordinate the timing.
What if my rented kite is too small or too large due to changing winds?
You have the option to exchange the equipment during the day if wind conditions change, but only if the shared training spot is visited.
My desired date is fully booked. What can I do?
Please choose another date. If you want to participate with several people, you can contact us; we will be happy to try to arrange an additional date for you.
We are a group and would like to have our own kite course! Is that possible?
Yes, we are happy to arrange your own date for groups. Just send us a message, and we will plan your desired course with you.
How do I find the best accommodation for me?
If the information on our website is not enough, we are also available by phone and email to help you find the right accommodation.
Can children take a kite course?
In general, yes. However, it depends on the child's concentration and weight whether a course is sensible. Experience shows that the threshold is around 10 years old, but this age is only a guideline. We can discuss the suitability of younger children with you and your child in advance on a case-by-case basis.
Is kitesurfing dangerous?
Not really! Anyone who follows the rules of sensible kitesurfing is on the safe side. Observing the safety rules taught within the VDWS/IKO license, kitesurfing is not dangerous. However, to learn the sport, a professional course must be completed.
Will I starve during the course?
If you tend to be constantly hungry, you should bring a small lunchbox in the morning. Otherwise, there are drinks, snacks, or delicious food at the beach pavilions. My partner doesn't kite.
Will he/she be bored?
Even as a non-kiter, staying at our school in South Holland is anything but boring. Here you will find a selection of activities in the region.
